According to Ecommerce News, online retailers across the UK have been delivering parcels almost 20% faster than usual.

Online retailers and their carriers in the UK have accelerated delivery to keep pace with the high demand during the lockdown. As a result, the average delivery time has been decreased from 2.1 days to 1.7 days in the last two weeks.

According to the statement, there are several reasons for that. Firstly, since a lot of customers are currently staying at home, they can receive the parcel at the first delivery attempt. Secondly, the fact that many carriers don’t require a signature makes delivery time-saving.

Besides, nowadays several carriers can drop off the parcel even when receivers aren’t at home.
