Elon Musk has announced that Americans can now purchase a Tesla using Bitcoins. The company will hence start accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment across the US.

Buyers in the US will get details on how to purchase a Tesla via the cryptocurrency on the Tesla website. Currently, Tesla’s electric vehicles cost approximately $37,990- $124,000 prior tax.

While the option is currently only available for people in the United States, buyers from other countries will be able to make Tesla purchases via Bitcoin later this year. However, Elon Musk, who made the announcement, did not specify the countries where this option will be available.

The company is using open and internal source software to accept the remittances. Tesla also operates nodes that verify transactions and ensures the cryptocurrency is not spent twice.

We’ve reported that Tesla entered 2021 with a record-breaking number of e-vehicles.
