Revolut has announced the rollout of Open Banking for its more than 400.000 retail and business customers across Italy.

This way, its Italian customers can connect their Intesa Sanpaolo, UniCredit, UBI Banca, Banco BPM, Poste Italiane bank accounts to the Revolut app.

Besides, users can leverage the new free solution to purchase goods or services contactless or online or top-up their Revolut account. It also enables them to transfer EUR from an Irish Revolut account to other EU bank accounts.

Revolut’s Open Banking solution has been created in collaboration with financial APIs provider TrueLayer.

This partnership enables Italian consumers to have bigger control over their entire finances. Revolut further plans to allow them to add money to the app via Open Banking.

We’ve reported that over half of the European online businesses consider cross-border expansion within the EU increasingly difficult.
