UniCredit and the European Investment Bank (EIB) entered into agreement focusing on the digital transformation of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Despite the fact that agreement provides €200 million in resources, the EIB obligates UniCredit to provide Italian companies with own resources for the same amount. This way, the total available financing increases up to €400 million.

The 200 million EIB credit line regards projects of Italian SMEs, with a particular focus on innovative companies. Special attention is also paid to companies in the South to develop the growth of the area.

The funding intended to help companies active in such production sectors as agriculture, crafts, industry, commerce, tourism, and services. However, the agreement doesn’t include pure financial and real estate investment projects.
