Although the project was launched only last year, device number 1000 has already been bought by a resident of Turku, Finland. Walletmor explains that Scandinavia accounts for 20% of its global sales.

The device is now available for €199 in the EU and $299 in the US. However, the startup plans to expand to the Middle East, as sales accelerate.

Walletmor implant is the size of a small safety pin and about half a millimetre thick. It consists of an integrated circuit and a metal sheath acting as an antenna.

Payment implants are linkable with personal accounts within the iCard EU-based digital wallet. In order for an implant to work, customers should activate the account and top it up. Local specialists install the device under your skin in the medical aesthetics clinic, and voila – your contactless payment card is always with you.

Walletmor payment implants are treated just as standard payment wearables. Thus, all the transactions are processed according to the standard contactless payment procedure which involves a payment scheme, acquirer, and payment processor. Besides, Walletmor payment implants are acceptable worldwide. All you need is a terminal processing contactless payments.
