Robin Li, founder of Baidu, a pioneer in the area of artificial intelligence in China, said that in 2025, the number of apps powered by AI will show exponential growth.
Robin Li, in a message to all staff marking the company’s 25th anniversary, which fell on New Year’s Day, noted expectations that the firm’s investments in machine intelligence will generate returns this year.
It’s worth noting that Baidu unveiled its own large language model just a few months after OpenAI’s ChatGPT debuted.
Robin Li stated that generative artificial intelligence powered by foundational models is being rapidly deployed in various industries and scenarios. He also underlined that even though there has not been a super app so far, the penetration rate of AI is not low, and exponential growth will be observed in 2025.
Robin Li has also warned in the past about the excessive number of large language models in China. In this context, he called on technology leaders to focus on building apps powered by AI.
Currently, there are about 200 large language models in the Chinese market.
It is worth noting that against the background of the active development of artificial intelligence and the intensive scaling of the practice of using digital thinking systems, the issue of cybersecurity has become more relevant. Scammers also have access to AI. Against this background, their activities have become more sophisticated. To counteract the corresponding threat in the cyber environment, personal awareness of users is important. For example, an Internet search query such as how to know if my camera is hacked will allow anyone to get information about signs of unauthorized access to the device.
