Bank of America Expands AskGPS With Three New Tools

Bank of America has launched AskGPS Intelligence Hub. It is a set of tools to facilitate decision-making for corporate staff in its Global Payments Solutions (GPS) unit.

Bank of America Expands AskGPS With Three New Tools

GPS is the division that handles treasury and payments services for business clients. The tools are meant to help employees combine and read complex treasury information.

The Intelligence Hub builds on AskGPS, an internal generative AI assistant introduced in 2025. This internal software summarizes data it has been given and answers personnel’s questions or provides additional insights to customer profiles.

“AskGPS turns institutional knowledge into real-time intelligence,” said Mark Monaco, head of GPS at Bank of America, at product’s launch in 2025. “It’s more than a search tool—it’s a strategic engine, helping our teams respond faster and deliver the kind of clarity and advice clients expect in today’s environment.”

AskGPS currently supports nearly 3,000 employees. The bank says the new tools draw on its global payments business and its proprietary data. They pull together client, account and relationship information to support client conversations.

“We are continuously enhancing AskGPS to give our teams smarter, more connected tools that help them deliver greater value to clients,” said Jarrett Bruhn, head of Data and Artificial Intelligence for GPS at Bank of America. “The AskGPS Intelligence Hub builds on our GenAI application with new capabilities that will help employees better understand clients’ evolving needs and support their treasury priorities.”

The first three new capabilities will roll out in phases. Each is designed to bring client, account and relationship data into one place.

Intelligent Treasury Management Reviews. Treasury management reviews are regular meetings between the bank and a client about how the client manages its cash. In the first phase, this tool combines client information, relationship activity and account structures into a single review. Employees can adjust the output for each client. The bank says this reduces time spent gathering information and increases time spent preparing for what really matters – discussions and decisions.

Digital Account Schematics. This tool creates visual maps of a client’s accounts. The maps show liquidity structures, transfers of funds between accounts, relationships with multiple banks and related services. Accompanying analysis helps employees identify structural changes, understand how money moves and find topics to raise with clients.

Enhanced Relationship Insights. This tool applies AI to client, product and activity signals. It is designed to show changing needs, possible gaps and opportunities. The bank explicitly states that employees remain responsible for decisions and client interactions, though.

How AskGPS Started

Bank of America introduced AskGPS in September 2025. The bank built the tool in-house and trained it on more than 3,200 internal documents and presentations. These included product guides, term sheets and FAQs. The bank said at the time that employees could ask simple or complex client questions and receive answers within seconds.

One earlier scenario of a tool use is as follows. A sophisticated inquiry could take an employee an hour. It could involve phone calls to product specialists in different regions and time zones. Instead, bank employee turns to AskGPS assistance. This tool could produce a comparable result almost instantly. This speed created the potential for BofA to save tens of thousands of employee hours each year.

Governance

Bank of America says both AskGPS and the Intelligence Hub operate under its Responsible AI framework. According to the bank, the generative AI features are subject to governance, testing and oversight. The organization says they are designed to give relevant, traceable information. Importantly, employees keep responsibility for judgment, decisions and client interactions.
