Bank of America’s CashPro App Records $1.2T in Payments & 20% Usage Growth, as AI and Mobile Transform BofA Treasury Operations

Corporate treasurers don’t sleep at their desks anymore — at least not the ones at Bank of America. In 2025, clients approved $1.2 trillion in payments through the bank’s CashPro App, a figure that works out to roughly $38,000 every second of every day. For a mobile app, that’s a staggering amount of financial trust to carry around in someone’s pocket.

Bank of America's CashPro App Records $1.2T in Payments & 20% Usage Growth, as AI and Mobile Transform BofA Treasury Operations

Bank of America reported a 20% year-over-year jump in CashPro sign-ins, and the reasons aren’t hard to find. Last year’s market volatility put a premium on speed — the ability to approve a payment or check a cash position from a phone at 11pm, rather than waiting for a desktop login in the morning. That shift from “nice to have” to “can’t do without” has quietly redefined what treasury software is expected to do.

A big part of the solution’s appeal is AI. Not only does the CashPro app deliver instant access into cash positions, balances, and Investment Grade Bond market data but also its AI‑driven Trade Evaluation Driver score helps finance teams assess market conditions and relative value directly from their mobile devices.

Corporate finance teams are increasingly leaning on intelligent systems that are skilled enough to surface anomalies, flag unusual transactions, and synthesize real-time data into something a human can actually act on quickly. In turbulent markets, the gap between seeing a problem and responding to it has real dollar consequences — and that’s exactly the gap these tools are designed to close.

“The CashPro App has been our saving grace,” said Daylon Bailey, Treasury Operations Manager of Highgate Hotels and member of the CashPro North America Board. “It helps me make decisions everyday – including whether to approve someone’s access, or to release a wire. For payment approvals, I may not be near my laptop, but if I am expecting a payment that needs to go out, I can pull out my phone and quickly validate information without delay.”

The security architecture has kept pace too. QR-based biometric sign-in has taken over from traditional passwords, letting users authorize large transactions without the friction or the vulnerability of legacy authentication. For treasury operations moving hundreds of millions at a time, that’s not a minor UX upgrade; it’s a meaningful reduction in attack surface.

Perhaps the least glamorous and headline-making but most telling corporate treasury shift is the death of the email approval chain. Push notifications have replaced the back-and-forth of flagging transactions over email, cutting the lag out of workflows that used to depend on someone actually opening their inbox. It sounds like a small thing. In practice, it changes the tempo of how money moves.

Taken together, these aren’t incremental product updates but signals of a structural change in how large companies manage liquidity. Platforms that combine real-time intelligence, mobile access, and serious security are becoming core financial infrastructure, not competitive differentiators. When a trillion dollars a year flows through a single CashPro app, that app has effectively become the treasury. Yet, bank surely remains intent on leaving human assistance part of the process when needed.

“Our clients appreciate how much time that CashPro Chat is helping them save in performing their day-to-day needs. Instead of picking up the phone or sending an email and waiting for assistance, they can instantly get answers to their questions. For more complex matters, it makes sense for them to leverage more traditional service channels. The combination of the two solutions is what we like to call high-tech, high-touch.”
