BitGo Europe GmbH, the European subsidiary of BitGo Inc., U.S.-based digital asset infrastructure company, has announced the expansion of its Crypto-as-a-Service (CaaS) offering across the European Economic Area (EEA). The rollout is structured under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation (MiCA or MiCAr), which provides a harmonised regulatory framework for digital asset services across EU member states.

The move allows fintech companies and banks operating in the EEA to integrate compliant crypto services, including onboarding, custody, trading, and fiat on/off-ramps, through BitGo Europe GmbH’s licensing framework and modular API infrastructure.
Previously available in the United States via BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association, the Crypto-as-a-Service platform is now positioned to support regulated European institutions seeking to launch digital asset products in line with MiCA requirements.
“Europe is entering a new era for regulated digital asset services, and institutions want a clear, compliant path to launch,” said Mike Belshe, CEO and Co-founder of BitGo. “By expanding Crypto-as-a-Service across the EEA through BitGo Europe GmbH, we’re enabling regulated businesses to bring crypto products to market faster – without compromising on security, controls, or operational resilience.”
The introduction of MiCA establishes passporting rights across the EU, allowing licensed providers to operate across all 30 EEA countries under a single regulatory framework. BitGo Europe GmbH’s expansion is aligned with this structure, aiming to give financial institutions a compliant pathway to embed digital asset services into their existing platforms.
Under the model, businesses can incorporate crypto functionality directly into their own applications and user interfaces, while BitGo provides backend infrastructure, custody, and operational support.
“Trust is the differentiator in Europe’s regulated crypto market,” said Brett Reeves, Head of EMEA at BitGo. “BitGo’s CaaS combines qualified custody, configurable policy controls, and enterprise-grade operational support – so European businesses can offer crypto services with the governance and protections their customers expect.”
Through its MiCA-aligned framework, BitGo Europe GmbH enables institutional clients to integrate:
- EEA-wide coverage: Passporting capabilities across 30 EEA countries
- Custody and wallet infrastructure: Multi-asset wallets backed by qualified custody
- Insurance coverage: Custodial wallets insured up to $250 million (subject to terms and conditions)
- Programmatic onboarding: API-based KYC flows for secure user verification
- Trading and settlement: Integrated cryptocurrency trading pairs with fast settlement
- On/Off-ramps: SEPA-based fiat connectivity within the EU
- Policy controls: Customisable permissions, transaction limits, and governance safeguards
- 24/7 support: Dedicated account management and global technical assistance
The modular API and webhook architecture allows fintechs and banks to embed these services into their platforms without building proprietary crypto infrastructure from scratch.
Founded in 2013, BitGo provides custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, stablecoin infrastructure, and settlement services. The company operates multiple regulated entities globally, including BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association in the United States. With the EEA expansion now underway, the crypto company’s European branch, BitGo Europe GmbH is positioning its Crypto-as-a-Service model as a regulatory-aligned infrastructure option for European financial institutions seeking to participate in the digital asset market within the parameters set by MiCA.
