Bits Technology Raises €12 Million to Streamline Compliance Across Europe

The Stockholm-based RegTech startup builds a unified compliance infrastructure designed to automate labor-intensive tasks that once required significant manual effort. Its platform handles Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Know-Your-Business (KYB) verification, anti-money-laundering (AML) checks, fraud prevention, and customer onboarding through a single integration. By consolidating multiple country-specific processes into one system, Bits enables financial institutions to scale across Europe without navigating fragmented compliance workflows.

The Series A round was led by Alstin Capital, with participation from Cherry Ventures, Unusual Ventures, Alliance Ventures, and angel investor Haval van Drumpt, CEO of Tre Sweden. The funding will support product development, expanded European data coverage, and growth in key regions, including the DACH markets and the UK. This strategic investment positions Bits to meet rising demand from banks and fintechs for scalable, automated compliance solutions.

Bits’ infrastructure connects to a wide array of European company registries, beneficial ownership databases, PEP and sanctions lists, and fraud signals, enabling institutions to monitor risk and verify customers more efficiently. Customers such as Qliro, Alisa Bank, and Walley have reported that manual compliance tasks were reduced by 50–70%, and onboarding times shortened from weeks to days or even hours. This automation allows compliance teams to focus on high-risk cases, improving both speed and accuracy of regulatory oversight.

The company was founded in 2022 by former operators from Klarna, AWS, and Tink, bringing deep fintech and technology expertise to the regulatory space. Its unified platform addresses the growing challenge of cross-border compliance in a rapidly evolving European market, where regulatory complexity has slowed growth for many institutions relying on fragmented or manual processes.
