Ecommpay announces the integration of Apple Pay via QR code as part of its global merchant payment suite. With this feature, shoppers can pay with Apple Pay even if they are not browsing from an Apple device.

Ecommpay Integrates Apple Pay QR for Next-Generation Checkout

New functionality empowers Ecommpay merchants with automatic support for Apple Pay QR. When a shopper on their platform uses any other than Apple’s native browser or device, instead of being blocked from the transaction, a unique QR code is generated so the user can scan it with their iPhone or iPad, authenticate via Face ID/Touch ID, and complete payment without having to re-enter card details.

This move underlines Ecommpay’s strategy to deliver friction-free, global checkout experiences and to expand access to advanced payment methods for merchants across regions.

The QR code connects the customer’s device with Apple Wallet, expanding the brand payment functionality and making Apple Pay available everywhere, not just on Safari or macOS/iOS devices. Today, Apple Pay via QR code enables merchants to offer Apple Pay to Windows users, Android users, Linux users, users browsing on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave, or perhaps even OpenAI Atlas or Perplexity’s Comet.

This massively increases potential conversion for merchants because Apple Pay has one of the highest success rates among mobile wallets, which are currently the payment method of choice across Southeast Asia.

Furthermore, QR payments are already familiar globally, especially in Asia and emerging markets. Therefore, combining the QR technology with Apple Pay secure wallet experience creates a checkout flow people already know and trust.

Merchants can theoretically generate QR codes on websites, in invoices, on TV screens, at physical locations, inside kiosks, or even at event banners. Beyond in-store or POS scanning, QR codes today are being integrated into online checkouts, linking browser sessions to mobile wallet authentication. Anywhere a screen can show a QR, Apple Pay becomes a viable payment option.

Adopting this type of payment methods is critical for global sellers. Asia Pacific is the largest market for QR code payments. They are not just a popular way to accept transactions from customer anymore too. QR codes are also gaining traction in invoicing and business payments, where a dynamic QR can pre-fill invoice details and streamline settlement.
