Fintech Giant Revolut Deepens Ties with Google Cloud in Multi-Million Dollar Deal

Revolut has entered into a multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement with Google Cloud to bolster its infrastructure and propel its mission to surpass 100 million customers worldwide.

Besides deploying Google Cloud infrastructure across both back-end and front-end systems, this partnership also grants Revolut access to advanced AI and machine learning tools, including Google’s Gemini models. Those offer elevated fraud detection capabilities and more personalized product experiences. In addition, Google’s global network of data centers enables Revolut to maintain service quality across regions as it adds new service markets.

Revolut has historically relied on Google Cloud to build a foundation capable of supporting its explosive growth. As revealed in previous use cases, Revolut actively leverages Google technologies like Compute Engine, Cloud APIs, Cloud IAM, and incremental snapshot backups to enable rapid and secure deployments. These tools have reduced the fintech firm’s backup times from 20 hours to roughly five minutes and ensured scalability and stability even during peak demand periods.

The deepened Google Cloud partnership will underpin the consistent delivery of Revolut’s evolving products, ensuring they operate at scale without compromising performance or security. In recent months, Revolut has introduced a range of innovative services. The firm now has its own ATMs in Europe, offers tech-driven savings and investment tools, and even plans to offer mobile phone plans in the UK and Germany. The fintech also partnered with a cryptocurrency infrastructure company, Lightspark, to accelerate Bitcoin transactions in the United Kingdom and Europe.
