Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) has been recognized with three awards at the Juniper Research Future Digital Awards 2025. G+D Netcetera, the financial software specialist of the G+D Group, won the top honor, a Platinum Award, for its new BIN Attack Score solution. The G+D products Convego Card Designer and the Convego Issuance Kiosk each won a Gold Award.
The awards recognize technological advancements that address key challenges in the global payments industry. As financial institutions contend with increasing fraud risks and more stringent regulations, consumers also seek greater convenience and personalization in their payment experiences. G+D’s award-winning solutions aim to meet both objectives by strengthening security and enhancing usability.
The independent judging panel emphasized the practical value and measurable impact of the innovations. Nick Maynard, VP of Fintech Market Research at Juniper Research and Head Judge of the awards, also noted that G+D’s achievements across three categories demonstrate its commitment to innovation and relevance in today’s payments landscape. He highlighted the company’s success in tackling fraud prevention, expanding self-service options, and advancing personalization across the ecosystem.
Addressing Growing Fraud Challenges
G+D Netcetera’s BIN Attack Score received the top recognition in the Fraud Prevention category. The solution detects and prevents Bank Identification Number (BIN) attacks, in which fraudsters use automated tools to test large volumes of card data, potentially validating up to 4,800 card numbers per day. By integrating 24/7 real-time detection into G+D’s 3-D Secure Issuer Service (Access Control Server) used by over 1,000 banks worldwide, the system helps financial institutions reduce both direct losses and operational costs linked to card fraud. According to Statista, global card fraud losses have already reached about $36 billion.
Using AI for Compliant Personalization
The Convego Card Designer, which won Gold in the AI in Banking Innovation category, applies generative AI to streamline and safeguard card design customization. The system reviews user-generated designs for compliance with bank and regulatory requirements, filters out prohibited content, identifies potential copyright issues, and enables customers to personalize cards securely and efficiently.
Expanding Self-Service Card Issuance
The Convego Issuance Kiosk, recognized with Gold in the Modern Card Issuing Platforms category, enables consumers to print fully personalized payment cards in minutes. Designed for use in branches or high-traffic areas such as malls and airports, the kiosk supports new card issuance, replacement, and onboarding processes. It provides banks and fintechs with a flexible solution to maintain customer service accessibility despite widespread branch closures.
Aligning with New Regulatory Developments
These awards coincide with ongoing regulatory changes in Europe’s payments landscape. The Verification of Payee (VoP) requirement will become mandatory in 2025, and PSD3 will impose stricter standards for fraud prevention. G+D’s recognized solutions directly address these developments: BIN Attack Score supports enhanced fraud detection, Convego Card Designer demonstrates compliant AI integration, and Convego Issuance Kiosk helps institutions maintain customer engagement amid evolving operational and regulatory conditions.
