Huawei has launched a new AI platform for banks to own their artificial intelligence (AI) stack.

The company introduced the Huawei Fintelligent AI Solution at its Global Finance Summit during HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai on September 18.
Jason Cao, CEO of Huawei’s Digital Finance BU, presented the solution under the bigger “Own Your AI, Own Your Intelligence” product umbrella during a keynote titled “Owning Your AI, Advancing Agentic Banking.” It targets banks wary of handing core decision-making systems to outside vendors, arguing that AI capability should sit inside the institution rather than be leased from it.
The solution has three core components Huawei calls “factories”:
- Agent Factory provides a foundation for building and running AI agents inside a bank’s own systems.
- Token Factory is powered by new TokeNexus system covering planning, production, scheduling, and optimization of AI token usage. It aims to keep compute costs predictable as banks scale up AI use.
- Data-Knowledge Factory converts a bank’s internal data, documents, and rules into a form its AI agents can reference and rely on. Huawei calls the result each bank’s own “Domain Intelligence” — an asset that stays within the institution.
Together, the three factories are meant to give banks a repeatable way to build and expand AI systems over time.
“Every financial institution should own its AI and keep the choice and evolution of AI in its own hands. Truly owning your AI is not about using a particular model or deploying a few AI applications. It means being able to choose independently, operate securely, replicate at scale, and continuously evolve your AI capabilities. Through open architecture, platforms, and compute, Huawei will work with customers and partners to bring AI at scale into core business operations and accelerate the transition to Agentic Finance.”

Alongside the main launch, Huawei introduced two supporting products. The Financial Agentic Data Solution focuses on data and knowledge pipelines. It’s supposed to be feeding information continuously to the particular bank’s AI agents.
The AI Coding Solution in turn extracts business rules buried in old banking code and turns them into structured knowledge that AI systems can use. This way, Huawei plans to speed up core bank system modernization without starting from zero.
The full stack sits on openJiuwen – a financial-grade open-source agent platform, paired with Huawei’s own compute infrastructure.
Huawei said it has worked with the financial sector for 16 years. The tech company is serving more than 7,100 financial customers in over 80 countries, including 54 of the world’s top 100 banks. At the same summit, Huawei and industry partners from banking, insurance, and securities unveiled the 2026 Huawei Global Financial Lighthouse, a set of nine reference cases meant to document how banks and insurers are handling digital and AI transformation in practice.
