Intel Says New Laptop Chips to Extend Computer Battery Life

Intel Corp., which is currently symbolically and practically fighting for its place in the sun in the global technology sector and in the notebook processor market particularly, where its position in terms of competitiveness has faced the prospect of a significant weakening in recent years amid increased competition, said that the new range of chips will ensure the longest possible battery life in laptops.

Intel Says New Laptop Chips to Extend Computer Battery Life

New computers based on the latest version of Core Ultra processors will go on sale before the end of the current month. This was announced by Intel the current week at CES, an annual consumer electronics show.

For decades, the company has been almost the sole leader in the global microcircuits development and manufacturing sector. Intel’s dominant position in the computer processor market seemed to be something solid and, in a sense, unchanged like the world in its original form, outside the context of certain phenomena and processes of a particular historical epoch. However, one of the unspoken axioms of being says that any fame and success is still a fact of a certain period and not a constant of eternity. Intel continues to exist and develops new products, with ambitions to strengthen competitiveness and expand market share, but at the same time, the positions of the past decades from the point of view of the current situation in which the brand finds itself, in a symbolic sense, seem like a pleasant dream of joy and victories, dissolving into the problems of the present reality, not warmed by the sun by the rays, and caught cold by the winds of adversity. The company has lost its greatness for several reasons. In the relevant context, it is worth mentioning stumbles in production technology. The slow introduction of new products has also been an unfavorable factor in the strategic impact on Intel’s position in the industry. Against this background, a kind of opportunity space has been formed for the company’s competitors.

Intel’s board last month ousted its chief executive officer Pat Gelsinger, citing the need to improve its offerings.

The company’s new chips, designed for corporate personal computers and high-end consumer devices, aim to boost performance in two areas that the firm identifies as the most important in terms of impact on sales figures: battery life and the ability to run artificial intelligence functions.

According to Intel, an HP Inc. laptop using one of the new processors may run Microsoft Corp.’s Teams software for 10.5 hours on a single charge. It was also noted that if a consumer uses Microsoft’s cloud-based 365 suite, the time between charges can be 20.3 hours.

Moreover, the company said its new chips produce much faster results than competing silicon in apps using generative artificial intelligence. Processors based on Intel’s Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake designs will debut in the current year and will be aimed at business machines. The company said that over time, these processors will be used in light and thin laptops, high-performance notebooks, and desktop personal computers.
