OpenAI Enhances Accessibility for Nonprofits

OpenAI, the firm behind the popular generative AI tool ChatGPT, unveiled its new initiative, OpenAI for Nonprofits, on May 30. This initiative aims to enhance the accessibility of artificial intelligence tools for nonprofit organizations, enabling them to achieve more with fewer resources.

The company explained that nonprofit organizations already used the ChatGPT Team and ChatGPT Enterprise tools to increase productivity. Some of the widespread use cases include drafting grant proposals, refining data analysis, or tailoring communication strategies for diverse audiences.

With a discounted rate of $20 per month per user, more nonprofits could potentially access ChatGPT Team. In addition, larger nonprofits that require large-scale deployment can contact the OpenAI sales team to access a 50% discount on ChatGPT Enterprise, which is the most expensive but also the most comprehensive pricing plan.

The new initiative enables nonprofits to access advanced AI models like GPT-4o, advanced tools like DALL·E, Browsing, data analysis, custom GPTs, a dedicated collaborative workspace, admin tools for team management, domain verification, analytics, and more.

Besides, the newest update, which is rolling out gradually, allows users to upload the latest file versions directly from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, interact with tables and charts in a new expandable view, and customize and download charts for presentations and documents.

All those advanced artificial intelligence tools can help nonprofits unlock diverse international funding sources and draft effective grant proposals; provide more in-depth support to their clients; use data effectively to allocate resources and prioritize activities; share critical takeaways from relevant research findings; curate high-quality resource hubs and perform dozens of time-consuming routine tasks.

Eligible nonprofits worldwide can already take advantage of nonprofit discounts. Academic institutions can also contact the OpenAI sales team to find out if they’re eligible for the discount. Academic, medical, religious, or governmental institutions are not currently eligible for OpenAI for Nonprofits.
