Insiders report that negotiations on a new round of financing are currently at an early stage. Also, according to them, the investors whom the company intends to gain to its initiative were included in the preliminary discussions. In this case, the insiders used the right of anonymity, noting that the issue of a new round of financing is still confidential.

CBInsights data indicates that successful fund-raising will make the ChatGPT developer the second most valuable startup in the United States. The first place in this ranking is occupied by Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Elon Musk.

Representatives of OpenAI did not provide any information in response to a media request for a new round of financing.

This year, there were reports in the information space that the startup intends to complete a separate tender offer in early January 2024. The implementation of this plan will allow the company’s employees to sell their shares worth a total of $86 billion. Insiders reported that in this case, the level of demand from investors exceeded the volume of supply.

The rapidly growing appreciation of OpenAI is a reflection of the global interest in artificial intelligence technology. Insiders report that OpenAI has also held talks on raising financing for a new chip manufacturing venture with G42, an Abu Dhabi-based company. According to media informants, the startup discussed investments of $8 billion to $10 billion. So far, there is no final result on the implementation of OpenAI’s plans.
