Smartwatch brand Rogbid presented the innovative smart ring model with an OLED touch display, which is the first product of this kind on the market.
Rogbid SR08 Ultra smart ring offers users a variety of functions, including health and motion monitoring, for a nominal price of $89.99 during the pre-order phase.
The new device is ultra-thin (about 2,5 mm) and lightweight (4g). Its multi-functional display shows standard watch and fitness tracking indicators like date and time, heart rate, step count, oxygen level, sleep time, etc. It allows users to track their activity in various modes, e.g. hiking, jogging, cycling or golf, with connected GPS functionality.
Constructed with a titanium outer shell and 5ATM water resistance, the ring ensures durability and suitability for unlimited daily wear. The device also has a long battery life, with a lifespan of 3 to 5 days, and is rechargeable via a magnetic case similar to those used for wireless earbuds.
Of course, SR08 Ultra’s main attraction is an interactive OLED touch display that sets it apart from competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Ring and Oura Ring, which lack such a feature.
Besides fitness tools available in a dedicated app, Rogbid’s smart ring can be used for gesture control of your smartphone’s select services. For instance, SR08 can be leveraged to scroll TikTok or take photos with the phone’s camera.
At launch, the ring is sold at a discounted price, with an anticipated retail price of $189.99, which still presents an affordable alternative to premium smart rings. For example, the abovementioned Samsung Galaxy Ring and Oura Rings are worth between $250 – $400.
Founded in 2016, Rogbid specialises in the design and development of sports and smartwatches. The company has established business partnerships in over 40 countries, received patents in software, hardware development, and structural design within the smartwatch industry, and achieved a few industry milestones, such as developing the Brave, the world’s first waterproof performance IP68-certified smartwatch.
Although the market for smart rings is still in its nascent stage, there are many innovative products available for tech-savvy customers, such as Tangem’s crypto wallet ring, Ultrahuman’s ring AIR with AFib detection or various NFC-enabled rings with payment functions.
