Safello Expands Beyond Sweden with Launch in Finland

Nordic crypto exchange Safello takes first step toward pan-European growth under MiCA framework, first expanding to Finland from its home country.

Safello Expands Beyond Sweden with Launch in Finland

Safello, the Swedish cryptocurrency exchange, has announced plans to launch its services in Finland before the end of the year, marking its first cross-border expansion.

The move follows a decision by the company’s Board of Directors and leverages Safello’s authorization as a crypto asset service provider under the EU’s new Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.

MiCA introduces a harmonized framework for crypto asset services across the European Union, allowing authorized providers to operate in multiple member states through a simplified notification process. For Safello, this means its Finnish launch will include the full suite of services currently available in Sweden, complete with euro payment support, including instant deposits and withdrawals via trusted local payment partners.

At launch, Finnish customers will be able to buy, sell, and store crypto assets securely through Safello’s mobile app, with a web version to follow shortly thereafter. The company is now finalizing technical integrations, operational readiness, and regulatory steps, including a cross-border activity notification to the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen) — a necessary step before operations can begin in Finland.

While the initial rollout will come with limited net costs, Safello expects the Finnish expansion to generate long-term revenue growth as user adoption and trading volumes increase. The move also signals the beginning of Safello’s broader European strategy, as the company’s Board continues evaluating additional markets for future entry.

The launch positions the company at the forefront of the emerging single EU crypto market. With the MiCA license paving the way for greater transparency and investor protection, Safello aims to capitalize on its early-mover advantage and trusted brand to attract a new wave of users seeking compliant, secure digital asset solutions.
