Scandiweb Releases Two Supply Chain Applications Built on OperaLayer Framework, Deployed as MVPs in 72 Hours

Scandiweb, an e-commerce and enterprise systems agency headquartered in Riga, has released two operational applications built on OperaLayer, its data integration framework for enterprise retail and distribution environments. The applications address stock visibility and exception-based allocation workflows during periods of shipping disruption.

OperaLayer sits above or between existing ERP, WMS, and TMS systems, aggregating data from those platforms without replacing them. The framework has been deployed for clients, including Sportland and ESELO.

The two new applications were developed in the context of ongoing disruptions to Red Sea shipping routes. Container traffic through the Suez Canal has fallen approximately 75% from pre-crisis levels. Ships rerouted via the Cape of Good Hope add an average of ten or more days to transit times, with traffic remaining disrupted into early 2026.

The first application, the Stock and Shipment Control Cockpit, was deployed for a furniture, home and textile supplier. The company’s legacy ERP system was unable to distinguish clearly between delayed, rerouted, blocked, or duplicated shipments. Sales teams were working from outdated arrival estimates, and planners were issuing duplicate replenishment orders against stalled purchase orders. The cockpit consolidated open purchase orders, warehouse stock, shipment data, sales allocations, and planner notes into a single view, with stock classified as available, allocated, at risk, or blocked for review.

The second application, the Exception Allocation App, was built for a distributor managing grocery, pharmaceutical, and B2B supply lines. Planning was based on standard lead-time tables that were no longer accurate, with short-life and critical products tracked across multiple spreadsheets. The application consolidated ERP orders, distribution centre stock, shipment delay signals, expiry data, and forecast inputs into a ranked exception queue for planner review and approval.

Both applications were delivered as working MVPs within 72 hours.

“In the furniture scenario, we were dealing with over 200 open purchase orders with no reliable status. Within three days, planners had a live view of every shipment and could act on exceptions the same day they appeared. That kind of turnaround isn’t possible through a standard legacy change request. The grocery and pharma distributor had expiry-sensitive lines being tracked in four different spreadsheets. Consolidating those into a ranked exception queue reduced duplicate data entry by an estimated 60–70 percent in the first week,” said Antons Sapriko, Founder and Executive Chairman at scandiweb.

Scandiweb states that its deployments operate within defined information security, cloud security, and quality management controls. E-commerce customer data shared with external AI services is confirmed with each client prior to deployment. The two deployments described above did not require external AI data transfer.
