Sunrate Named in CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026 for Second Consecutive Year

The annual list, compiled by CNBC in partnership with Statista, highlights fintech companies that have demonstrated innovation, business growth, and influence across financial services. Sunrate’s repeat inclusion reflects its continued expansion in the global payments market and follows a series of developments announced by the company in 2026.

Founded in 2016, Sunrate provides payment and treasury management services for businesses operating across international markets. According to the company, its platform supports transactions in more than 190 countries and regions through a global financial network and integrated payment infrastructure.

The recognition comes during a year of strategic initiatives for the Singapore-headquartered fintech. Earlier in 2026, Sunrate introduced Sunrate.AI, describing it as an AI-native payment infrastructure designed to automate enterprise payment workflows through what the company calls “Agentic Global Payments.” The company also unveiled a refreshed corporate brand identity, reflecting its focus on digital transformation in cross-border financial services.

“This recognition is a testament to the trust our customers place in us and the relentless dedication of our global team to deliver innovative financial infrastructure for businesses worldwide,” said Paul Meng, Co-founder and CEO of Sunrate. “As the demands of international business grow increasingly complex, we remain committed to engineering the future of global payments by helping businesses move money more seamlessly, manage treasury more intelligently, and unlock new opportunities for international growth.”

The latest accolade adds to another industry recognition received earlier this year. Sunrate was also named in FXC Intelligence’s Top 100 Cross-Border Payment Companies 2026 list for the third consecutive year, underscoring its continued presence in the international payments ecosystem.

Sunrate has expanded its operations through offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and London. The company also works with several international banking partners, including Citibank, Standard Chartered, Barclays, and J.P. Morgan, while serving as a principal member of both Mastercard and Visa.

Cross-border payments remain one of the fastest-evolving segments of financial technology as businesses seek faster, more automated, and data-driven methods for managing international transactions and treasury operations. Increasing adoption of artificial intelligence is also reshaping payment infrastructure, with fintech providers introducing AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency and streamline complex financial workflows.

Recognition from industry rankings such as CNBC’s annual fintech list provides additional visibility for companies competing in the rapidly expanding global payments market, where innovation in automation, treasury management, and international payment capabilities continues to be a key differentiator.

Other companies featured in CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026 ranking include global payments and financial technology leaders such as Stripe, PayPal, Visa, Adyen, Wise, Revolut, Airwallex, Thunes, TenPay Global, OSL Group, FNZ, Zip, Quicken, and PayJoy, reflecting the diversity of the fintech sector across payments, wealth technology, enterprise fintech, digital assets, and alternative financing. The 2026 edition recognises 500 companies across eight fintech segments, highlighting both established global platforms and fast-growing innovators that continue to shape the future of financial services through technology and digital infrastructure.

For the ranking, CNBC and Statista evaluated more than 2,000 fintech companies worldwide. The selection was based on an independent analysis combining general performance indicators with segment-specific key performance indicators (KPIs) tailored to each category. Research drew on publicly available information as well as data submitted by companies through an application process. Final scores reflected factors such as business growth, technological innovation, market impact, and performance within each company’s respective fintech segment.
