The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) is stepping up efforts to deepen ties with international investors, sending a senior delegation to the United States led by chairman and CEO Sherman Lin.

During the visit, the TWSE team plans to meet with major institutional investors and technology companies while also holding discussions with leading market infrastructure providers, including the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq. The talks will focus on regulatory frameworks, product innovation and opportunities for deeper cross-border capital market collaboration.

The outreach reflects Taiwan’s strategy to strengthen its position in global capital markets and attract long-term international investment. According to TWSE, the visit is part of a broader initiative to develop Taiwan as an Asian asset management center while advancing the government-backed Asia Innovation Capital Platform, which aims to create stronger financing channels for innovative companies across the region.

Taiwan’s stock market draws global attention

The international roadshow comes at a time when Taiwan’s capital market is expanding rapidly. The benchmark TAIEX recently surpassed the 35,000-point mark, while the total market capitalization of listed companies has exceeded $3.7 trillion, making Taiwan the seventh-largest equity market in the world.

Foreign investors play a major role in the market’s growth. They hold more than 47% of shares in listed Taiwanese companies, with U.S. institutional investors among the most significant contributors to cross-border capital inflows.

Sherman Lin emphasized that maintaining open dialogue with global investors is essential to sustaining that momentum. He said Taiwan has become an increasingly important destination for international institutional capital and that regular engagement helps reinforce confidence in the market.

Outreach to Silicon Valley startups

Alongside meetings with financial institutions, TWSE is also targeting the technology sector. A listings outreach team has been dispatched to Silicon Valley to connect with venture capital firms, startups and corporate investors.

The goal is to promote Taiwan as a listing venue for high-growth companies, particularly in sectors such as semiconductors, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and robotics.

As part of the initiative, the delegation will participate in Taiwan Demo Day – Spring Edition, an event designed to connect Taiwanese capital markets with the U.S. startup ecosystem and encourage innovative companies to consider raising funds in Taiwan.

Strengthening Taiwan’s global financial role

Taiwan’s outreach to international investors is part of a broader push to enhance the global competitiveness of its financial markets. TWSE has also been expanding its product lineup, including growth in exchange-traded funds, which has helped boost assets under management and strengthen the exchange’s presence in the Asia-Pacific ETF market.

As global investors search for exposure to advanced technology supply chains and AI-driven industries, Taiwan’s capital markets are increasingly positioned as a gateway to some of Asia’s most dynamic sectors.

For TWSE, building stronger relationships with investors, exchanges and startups in the United States is a key step toward turning that momentum into long-term global partnerships.
