TD Bank has expanded its embedded banking capabilities by integrating financial functionality directly into Workday, allowing U.S. business clients to access banking services within the enterprise software platform many already use for finance and HR operations. The move reflects growing demand for embedded financial services that simplify corporate banking and automate treasury processes.

The integration enables companies to access bank feeds and financial data inside Workday, eliminating the need to log into separate banking portals or rely on expensive treasury management systems. Businesses can view account information, monitor cash positions, and maintain near real-time visibility into their financial operations directly within their existing workflow.
The solution was developed in collaboration with fintech partner FISPAN, which specializes in connecting banking services to enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms. Through the integration, TD is among the first U.S. banks to deliver direct bank feeds within Workday, enabling organizations to streamline financial operations and reduce manual reconciliation tasks.
According to TD executives, the initiative is designed to help businesses operate with greater efficiency as financial processes become increasingly digital. Tom Gregory, Head of Treasury Management, Merchant and Government Banking at TD Bank U.S., said companies are increasingly looking for banking services that fit seamlessly into the tools they already use. Embedded banking capabilities reduce the need for multiple systems and portals while providing faster access to financial information.
The Workday functionality builds on TD’s broader embedded banking strategy. The bank has already integrated its services with several accounting and ERP platforms, including QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, and Sage Intacct. By expanding into Workday, TD aims to support organizations that rely on the platform for financial management and enterprise operations.
Future enhancements are expected to further expand the capabilities available within Workday. TD plans to introduce features that allow businesses to initiate payments, reconcile bank accounts, and automate accounting tasks directly inside the platform. These improvements could significantly reduce administrative workloads, with the bank estimating that some finance processes could see up to a 90% reduction in time spent on manual tasks.
The initiative also addresses a broader industry challenge. Despite rapid digital transformation in financial services, many treasury departments still rely on manual workflows or fragmented tools. In a survey of treasury professionals cited by TD, nearly 80% reported continuing to use manual or disconnected processes, highlighting the opportunity for embedded banking solutions to modernize financial operations.
Embedded banking, where financial services are delivered directly within software platforms used by businesses, is gaining momentum across the banking industry. By embedding services inside enterprise systems like Workday, banks can provide real-time data access, streamline payment workflows, and improve financial visibility without requiring companies to change their existing operational tools.
