TikTok Tests AI-Powered Chatbot

TikTok is currently testing a chatbot based on artificial intelligence, through which users will be able to search and discover the content they need.

TikTok Tests AI-Powered Chatbot

This chatbot was named Tako. In the process of testing a new tool based on artificial intelligence, users of the virtual platform living in the Philippines are taking part. The company announced this last Thursday, May 25, on its Twitter page.

Tako works on the basis of a third-party chat assistant. This tool was created in order to ensure the search for interesting and inspiring content. The company also said that it currently has no specific plans for a new tool, but it will be glad to receive feedback from users.

TikTok’s competitor Snap opened its My AI chatbot, which operates on the basis of artificial intelligence, to all members of the Snapchat community in April this year. In February, this tool was presented as a premium service for paid subscribers.

Snap’s My AI runs on the latest version of GPT OpenAI technology. The company said that the chatbot can help the user plan trips, and can also offer recipes and gift ideas. At the same time, the firm strongly recommended not to share secrets with the AI-based tool and not to perceive its advice as absolutely correct, since AI technology can make mistakes.

While expanding the availability of My AI, Snap also added the ability to personalize artificial intelligence, programmed it in accordance with community recommendations, and added an age detection function so that the chatbot understands when it communicates with minors.

In April, Snap stated that the AI-based tool is not a perfect development in terms of accuracy and quality, but significant technological progress has been made.

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of firms with intentions to use artificial intelligence to transform the process of trade and payments. For example, Yelp has added new search capabilities using AI and large language models in business directory review forums. As a result of the implementation of this solution, a higher level of understanding of the nuances of user requests will be provided.

As we have reported earlier, Montana Bans TikTok.
