Venmo and Bilt Announce Partnership to Simplify Rent and Mortgage Payments Across the U.S.

For years, rent and mortgage payments have lagged behind the digital payment revolution, often tied to outdated systems, limited rewards, and fragmented experiences. Venmo’s new partnership with Bilt aims to change that, introducing a seamless, more rewarding way for millions of Americans to manage housing and neighborhood payments directly within the Venmo app.

Venmo and Bilt Announce Partnership to Simplify Rent and Mortgage Payments Across the U.S.

Venmo, the money movement app powered by PayPal, and Bilt, the U.S. largest housing and neighborhood commerce platform, have announced a new partnership aimed at transforming how Americans pay rent and mortgages.

The collaboration marks the launch of Venmo’s new in-app commerce strategy, offering a more seamless and rewarding way to handle housing and neighborhood payments, connecting people and merchants in new ways, and shaping how the next generation spends, shares, and discovers together.

For decades, the $4.5 trillion U.S. rent and mortgage market has lagged behind the rest of the digital payments economy. While nearly 9 in 10 Americans use digital wallets or mobile payments, most rent and mortgage transactions still rely on checks, wire transfers, or outdated ACH systems, leaving consumers with limited flexibility, few rewards, and cumbersome monthly processes.

The collaboration with Bilt brings rent payments, mortgage repayments, and neighborhood commerce directly into the Venmo experience, marking a major step in Venmo’s evolution from a peer-to-peer payments app to an everyday commerce platform. It combines Bilt’s rent and rewards network with Venmo’s trusted and social payment experience, offering millions of renters and homeowners a simple, flexible, and rewarding way to pay.

Beginning in early 2026, Bilt Members will be able to pay rent and mortgage bills, as well as shop at local Bilt neighborhood merchants, using Venmo as a payment option alongside ACH, debit, and credit. Members can make monthly payments directly within the Bilt app or through Venmo in just a few taps using their balance or linked payment methods, split costs with roommates, and earn rewards on both housing and lifestyle purchases. Bilt Points are redeemable for travel, home goods, fitness, and more.

With over 5 million Bilt Members nationwide, representing one in four U.S. residential buildings, and the launch of mortgage rewards coming in early 2026, Venmo and Bilt are helping millions of Americans turn monthly expenses into meaningful value. The partnership also extends Venmo’s reach to Bilt’s network of over 45,000 neighborhood merchants, including restaurants, retailers, gyms, and local service providers, connecting Venmo’s nearly 100 million active accounts to more ways to pay and earn in their communities.

Together, Venmo and Bilt are simplifying one of life’s biggest financial routines while supporting property managers, merchants, and partners with a faster, more reliable way to get paid.
