Alibaba Group has signed 3 agreements with the Ethiopian government to join the Electronic World Trade Platform. The eWTP is the Alibaba’s initiative aiming to lower global trade barriers for SMEs through e-commerce. What is more, it will offer support in smart logistics, fulfillment, and talent training.

Ethiopia needed the four “Es” in order to connect its economy with global markets: education, e-government, e-frastructure and entrepreneurs. In addition, larger and faster internet networks were essential for business today, and entrepreneurship was a driving force for job creation in any economy
