Clubhouse and Stripe have announced a partnership that resulted in the creation of Clubhouse Payments allowing users to directly remit funds to speakers on the platform.

However, users will need to register a debit or credit card first. All funds received will be remitted to the creator. The only cost will be incurred by the sender via a processing fee that will be sent to Stripe. Although Clubhouse will not earn from the transactions, it could change once the features become more prominent.

At the same tine, all users can remit funds. However, Clubhouse Payments is available to a small group of speakers for a test. The money-sending feature will be rolled out in waves as the firm gets feedback and improves the service.

Here’s how it works:

  1. To send a payment in Clubhouse, just tap on the profile of a creator (who has the feature enabled) and tap “Send Money”.
  2. Enter the amount you would like to send them. The first time you do this, you’ll be asked to register a credit or debit card.
  3. 100% of the payment will go to the creator. The person sending the money will also be charged a small card processing fee, which will go directly to our payment processing partner, Stripe. Clubhouse will take nothing.
