Alibaba Group revealed measures to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in China affected by the coronavirus outbreak. The company will stop charging certain fees across its platforms.

For example, Tmall will eliminate service fees for the first half of the year, offering free services to merchants registered in Hubei. In addition to that, Cainiao will offer 2 months of waived fees for warehouse rentals. The local-services platform Koubei will waive commissions for sellers until the end of February, and until the end of March for Wuhan-based businesses.

What is more, Freshippo Supermarket introduced an employee-sharing scheme. It allows those who work in hospitality, dining, movie theaters, department stores, etc to find temporary jobs at Freshippo locations.

Alibaba will provide businesses with access to various resources free of charge. These include Taobao Livestream services for all offline merchants, online courses from Taobao University and digital solutions from Cainiao.
