Available to customers in nearly all US states for Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin, cash-to-crypto trading services from MoneyGram & Coinme will soon expand to more markets and more coins.

This January, the remittance and P2P payment provider completed a strategic investment into the Coinme exchange. The partnership originally started in May 2021 to build a bridge to connect bitcoin to local fiat currency. It further expanded cooperation with point-of-sale locations to buy and sell bitcoin.

This is the latest crypto-related service launch from a company, which has been aggressively pursuing crypto opportunities for a while. MoneyGram has previously partnered with Ripple, G-Coin, Circle and Stellar to enable cross-border payments, foreign exchange settlement, and instant money transfers using blockchain infrastructure.

"As consumer interest in digital currencies continues to accelerate, we are uniquely positioned to meet that demand and bridge the gap between blockchain and traditional financial services thanks to our global network, leading compliance solutions and strong culture of fintech innovation. We are excited for this next chapter in our journey."
Alex Holmes, MoneyGram Chairman and CEO
