GlobalData has revealed that AI is expected to be the most unsettling new technology used in business.
According to the poll, 65% of participants noted that the technology will rattle their industries, 57% cybersecurity, and 55% cloud computing and IoT.
The study carried out focused on cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, augmented reality (AR), blockchain and 5G. Over a fifth of the correspondents had negative thoughts towards AI technology in Q1 2021 compared to the same period in 2020.
Executives are, however, more unsure of blockchain. Over half believe that the technology has the capability of causing disruptions in their respective industries. 25% stated that blockchain was already unsettling their business. While this was the least share among the technologies in the survey, 23% believe that the technology will fulfill its promises.
Participants were also asked for views on measures undertaken by businesses to enhance their sustainability rating. The views were not encouraging in corporations. Over two-thirds of administrators were unsure regarding the sincere implementation of sustainability plans in the world. 50%, however, noted that their enterprises had changed their operations to gain more sustainability goals.
