One of the most recognisable buildings in the capital of Poland can now be seen in the metaworld. Paweł Gruza, vice president of the PKO Bank Polski management board says the virtual outpost will be used as a laboratory to broaden customer experience and to test relevant technologies.

The bank management believes that the virtual economy will eventually match the growth of PCs, the Internet and smartphones in the past. Therefore, they want to grab the opportunity early. This way, when the metaverse matures, the bank will be leading the technological development of the domestic banking sector and the Polish economy overall.

It is the first bank in Poland to explore metaverse opportunities. Today, users of the Decentraland platform can visit the virtual PKO Rotunda, where an exhibition of Polish contemporary art has been displayed.

PKO Bank Polski expects that its metaverse branch may be also used for onboarding new employees and training, following a shit to hybrid working patterns.

In addition, the bank will test the possibilities of creating a new virtual channel of communication with customers. The metaverse branch allows identifying opportunities to confirm client IDs in the metaworld and offer banking products.
