Revolut has launched its app in Australia enabling customers to manage the budget and make zero-fee transactions within one app.

The rollout will allow users to exchange Australian Dollar at the real rate, without hidden fees or markups. They can also hold 27 currencies directly in the app, including, New Zealand Dollars, US Dollars, British Pounds, and Euros.

The Revolut app provides instant spending notifications, automatic spending categorization, and monthly budget alerts.

Users can also split bills with friends at the tap of a button and round up spare change from their Revolut card spends into a Vault.

Besides, Australians will be able to experience key security features, such as location-based security on the Revolut cards or the option to temporarily freeze cards from within the app.

In addition, they can toggle payment functionalities such as contactless payments, online payments, or ATM withdrawals.

According to the report, users will be able to use the Metal card with up to 1% cashback outside Australia and 0.1% cashback within the country on card payments.

That also means that UK-based Revolut will be competing with local Australian neobanks including Xinja and Up.

We’ve reported that Revolut has announced the rollout of Open Banking for its more than 400.000 retail and business customers across Italy.
