According to the report, Switzerland is ready to start sending the QR-bills from 30 June 2020.

In fact, 15% out of 1,700 companies or organizations had planned to start issuing QR-bills instead of payment slips as soon as possible.

By the end of 2020, more than a quarter of respondents are more likely to undergo the switchover. However, this number is likely to decrease amid the coronacrisis.

All 600,000 companies in Switzerland should also understand that the QR-bill is not just something new for them to face, but something they need to prepare for actively. For this purpose, banks and the IT industry have been running an information campaign for almost a year. By means of circulars, mailings, customer newsletters, on the Internet, but also with ads and editorial content in regional papers, they have been drawing customers’ attention to the implementation of the QR-bill

Nevertheless, the process of replacing current payment slips with QR-bills will be gradual. It means that payments can be carried out with the traditional payment slips, until further notice.

We’ve reported that the global payments solutions provider HPS, Ghana Interbank Payment, and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS) launched a universal QR code. This way, Ghanaians will be able to carry out transactions via mobile wallets, cards, and bank accounts.
