The National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) of Chile has approved Uber to acquire Cornershop.

Earlier, Uber has announced its plans about acquiring a stake in the Cornershop app in October 2019. But primarily the company has to receive permission from both Chile and Mexico. Despite Chile has now given a green light, Mexican regulators still have not.

In case this deal will be fully approved, the company said it would expand delivery into other regions around the globe.

According to information, the FNE was worried that the acquisition would hold back online delivery competition. Nevertheless, the investigation showed that the purchase would not have a negative affect.

We’ve reported that MoneyGram International has announced its partnership with Uber. This way, the companies aim to provide drivers and delivery couriers a discount on digital transactions sent to close ones in more than 200 countries.
