UnionPay International has introduced the UnionPay 3DS online payment authentication solution.
It is based on the EMVCo Specifications, aimed to make payment authentication easier for cross-border e-commerce merchants.
Along with that, the UnionPay 3DS authentication product shortens the time needed for authorization by reducing page redirects and information input before payments. The way of authentication is automatically selected according to purchase data.
Besides, potentially risky purchases will require cardholders to complete extra authentication through SMSs, security questions, etc in order to avoid fraud.
The report states that UnionPay 3DS can be applied to online purchases initiated through web browsers as well as mobile apps.
It also offers unified standards to meet requirements in different jurisdictions and regulatory systems.
