Social institutions, welfare organisations and municipalities will benefit from a collaboration between Hakisa and Beyond by RS2, launching integrated digital card-based expense management solution today.

Beyond by RS2, the innovation brand of RS2 Financial Services, has partnered with Hakisa, a subsidiary of investment holding Maffei & Co. Together, the companies launch combined fintech offering, where Hakisa’s HakiPay expense management platform is supported by Beyond by RS2 capabilities as BIN sponsor and issuer for Mastercard cards.
With this card-based expense management solution, social service organisations and public (municipal) entities can issue payment cards to their employees, carers and project partners. The issuers maintain full visibility and control over fund use.
Modular HakiPay platform includes features such as digital receipt capture, cost centre allocation and approval workflows. All these are tailored to the needs of social institutions and municipalities in a joint offering.
“With this partnership, we are bringing to market a secure, efficient and compliant solution for organisations managing donation funds, care budgets and public resources,” said Florian Heuberger, Senior Product Manager, Consumer Solutions at RS2. “Our issuing platform gives organisations real-time oversight of spending, with controls such as MCC restrictions, budget parameters and project-specific rules.”
Besides budget managenent functionalities, the new solution offers compliant infrastructure, which is especially important for enterprises managing public funds. The platform is based on Mastercard global rails. Therefore, it meets applicable European regulatory requirements with the global payment network’s high standards of transparency, data protection and compliance.
“Together with Beyond by RS2, we are enabling social organisations and municipalities to manage funds in a modern, transparent and fully digital way,” said Andreas Buchner, Managing Director of Maffei & Co. “By integrating Mastercard cards into our HakiPay platform, we are helping customers make expenditure processes more efficient, secure and traceable.”
According to the companies, first joint projects with several social organisations have already been successfully deployed.
Launched this March, “Beyond by RS2” is a digital payments platform aimed at fintech firms, platforms, and payment providers seeking to offer card issuing and payment acceptance services across Europe. It operates under RS2’s Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license in Germany and its principal membership with Visa and Mastercard. This licensed structure allows partner companies to use RS2’s regulated infrastructure while maintaining their own branding and customer interfaces.
