Corporate fintech platform Brex has launched in the ChatGPT app marketplace, making it one of the first financial apps available in OpenAI’s ecosystem. ChatGPT Enterprise users can now ask natural language questions about their spending, balances, and expense policies directly inside ChatGPT.

Brex, the intelligent finance platform serving over 35,000 companies worldwide, is now available in the ChatGPT app marketplace as part of its broader push to bring financial intelligence to the tools people already use. The integration lets employees and finance teams query their Brex data conversationally. Eligible users may start checking expense status, card balances, or reimbursement timelines without ever leaving the ChatGPT interface.
What You Can Do With Brex in ChatGPT
The integration delivers conversational, permissions-based access to your Brex data. Every user sees only what their Brex role allows, with admins unlocking a broader set of company-wide analytics.
For all users, the integration supports checking which expenses still need receipts or memos, viewing real-time card limits and available balances, finding past expenses by merchant, amount, or date, tracking card statuses and shipping details, monitoring reimbursement status and expected payout dates, and getting instant answers to policy questions without reading through entire policy documents.
For admins, the tool adds the ability to run natural language queries across company-wide expense data, turning what used to require a custom report into a simple question.
One important note on the launch is that it is read-only by design. Users can safely retrieve answers and insights inside ChatGPT, but any further actions. e.g. data approvals, submissions, or edits must be completed inside Brex. The company says write capabilities are on the roadmap as part of its broader intelligent finance vision.
Why This Is a Big Deal for Enterprise Finance
Being listed in the ChatGPT app marketplace positions Brex among a select group of enterprise tools with native ChatGPT integration, and as one of the first financial apps to make that list, it’s a notable credibility signal in the race to AI-native finance.
The friction problem Brex is solving is that even a quick balance check or policy lookup requires a context switch, and often involves using a separate app for each task. Pulling employees out of whatever they were working on and into a separate finance tool takes time and decreases team efficiency. With Brex now answering questions directly inside ChatGPT, that context switch disappears.
The move builds on existing AI features already live inside Brex, including automated receipt matching, expense memo generation, and instant policy Q&A. Integrations with Slack, Uber for Business, and thousands of other apps have laid the groundwork for this kind of meet-you-where-you-are approach. ChatGPT is the natural next frontier.
The Broader AI Context in Corporate Finance
The launch arrives as AI adoption among Brex’s own customer base is accelerating fast. Brex data shows the number of unique customers spending on OpenAI grew 25% between January and October 2025, with total OpenAI spend across Brex customers up 80% over the same period.
With more than 35,000 companies, including Anthropic, Robinhood, Arm, and ServiceTitan, running on Brex across 120 countries, the ChatGPT app marketplace launch has an immediate and substantial user base to build on.
