CloudTech Group has launched RooRooEx, a digital asset trading platform for professional investors, high-net-worth individuals and retail customers. Its initial target markets are Australia, Singapore and Malaysia.

The platform is built on digital asset trading technology from Integral. It will connect users with multiple liquidity providers. According to CloudTech, orders can be routed across liquidity sources in real time, so platform can aggregate pricing and support trade execution across the 24/7 digital asset market.
RooRooEx supports trading pairs denominated in Australian dollars (AUD), US dollars (USD) and USDT for major cryptocurrencies. Its caters for market and limit orders, as well as time-weighted average price (TWAP) trading strategies. The platform also combines exchange-based trading with elements of the over-the-counter (OTC) model.
Edward Zhang, General Manager of Treasury, Custody and Capital Markets at CloudTech Group, said the company aims to make trading capabilities traditionally associated with professional markets more accessible to a wider group of investors.
The firm also provides users with controls for trading activities, risk exposure, settlement and reconciliation. The platform uses role-based access and controls across front-, middle- and back-office functions.
RooRooEx is additionally integrated with CloudTech Custody. Users can apply for dedicated custody accounts to store digital assets. They also have an option to withdraw assets to external wallets or transfer them to CloudTech’s separate custody platform.
At present, Australia’s regulatory framework for digital asset businesses is changing. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has September 30, 2026 deadline when it ends transitional relief for certain businesses providing digital asset and financial services. Businesses covered by ASIC rules may need to apply for or vary an Australian financial services licence (AFSL). It all depends on their activities and the products they offer.
There are circulating questions about the licensing arrangements applicable to RooRooEx in Australia. CloudTech has not publicly identified which entity will provide services to customers in each target market or specified which Australian licensing arrangements cover the platform. CloudTechX Pty Ltd is associated with the RooRooEx business name. It is registered with AUSTRAC as a digital currency exchange and remittance provider. That registration addresses anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing obligations. However, it is distinct from an Australian financial services licence.
