Ecommpay Adds Klarna to Its Platform, Expanding Flexible Payment Options for Merchants

Merchants now can offer Klarna services through Ecommpay including Pay in Full, Pay in 3 and Pay in 4 installments, Pay in 30 days, and long-term financing options. The service is accessible to businesses of all sizes in retail, travel and hospitality, fintech, mobility, digital goods, and insurance industries.

The cooperation increases the reach of Klarna for Ecommpay merchants while providing businesses with another flexible payment method. Thanks to the integration, merchants receive the benefit of faster access to a payment solution and the absence of the need for undertaking additional technical integrations.

Flexible payment methods have become a standard expectation in e-commerce as merchants look to cut checkout abandonment and match consumer preferences for installment and deferred payments. Klarna has emerged among the leaders in this sector, processing over 120 million active accounts and 3.8 million transactions daily.

Roman Tazetdinov, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Ecommpay, explained the commercial logic behind the addition:

“Flexible payment options are fundamental to a strong checkout experience for e-commerce merchants, and Klarna has been a popular choice for consumers and businesses. Used by millions of shoppers every month, we are confident adding Klarna to the Ecommpay payment platform will deliver real conversion gains for our merchants.”

He later added that these days, many customers actively seek Klarna options when checking out. By implementing Klarna on the service, he remarked, merchants gain access to a highly engaged audience without undue operational burdens.

Marc O’Fathaigh, Country Manager for the UK & Ireland at Klarna, described the partnership as a natural fit that expands the company’s merchant reach:

“Shoppers today expect to pay their way: no faff, no friction, no nasty surprises. Ecommpay is a natural fit: we both believe good ways to pay should be available to everyone. Through a single integration, this partnership puts Klarna in front of merchants worldwide, expanding our reach and giving millions of shoppers more control over their money.”

The agreement shows the general direction of payment service providers, which is to provide merchants with numerous checking options from a single platform. Payment orchestration and integrated solutions are key elements of this strategy, especially for those companies that operate in various markets or serve a wide range of customers by their diversified payment options.

Founded in 2012, Ecommpay provides the services of acquirers globally and locally as well as payment processing through only a single API. In addition to that, the platform also offers a wide set of payment methods, which include open banking, recurring billing, and direct debit. It also holds the permission of the Financial Conduct Authority of the UK, is a principal member of Mastercard and Visa and has the PCI DSS level 1 certification.

Klarna, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has grown from its instalment-payment origins into a wider consumer finance and commerce network. Its merchant partners include major brands such as Uber, H&M, Sephora, Ikea, Nike, and Airbnb.
