Europe’s AI transformation is entering a decisive new phase. After years focused on scaling models, accelerating pilots, and expanding generative AI capabilities, enterprises are now confronting a more fundamental challenge: trust. As AI moves from experimentation into mission-critical business operations, boardroom priorities are shifting from raw intelligence to credibility, governance, and resilience.
That transition is the central theme of GITEX AI EUROPE 2026, taking place from 30 June to 1 July at Messe Berlin, where technology leaders, investors, policymakers, and startups will explore how a new trust architecture for artificial intelligence is being built and what it means for regulation, infrastructure, and enterprise adoption.

Tech leaders signal a new AI era: trust will define winners of the AI race
Across the European AI ecosystem, a consistent message is emerging: competitive advantage is not defined by model performance alone, but by the ability to ensure trust, compliance, and secure deployment at scale.
Europe’s leading policymakers and digital sovereignty stakeholders will also contribute to the debate. Among them, H.E. Willemijn Aerdts, Netherlands’ Minister for the Digital Economy and Digital Sovereignty, and Christiane Kirketerp de Viron, Acting Director for Digital Society, Trust and Cybersecurity at the European Commission, will examine how regulatory frameworks and governance models are shaping AI adoption across the continent.
The rise of the AI trust infrastructure layer
While generative AI continues to dominate headlines, a parallel ecosystem is rapidly expanding beneath it: cybersecurity, compliance automation, sovereign data infrastructure, and digital trust systems that determine whether AI can operate safely in real-world environments.
One exhibitor at GITEX AI EUROPE is 3rdComply, which automates third-party cyber risk assessments and helps organisations navigate frameworks including NIS2, DORA and ISO 27001.
“AI should not be used to make broken processes faster,” said Ferry Haris, CEO and Founder of 3rdComply. “It should make us brave enough to question whether the process needs to exist at all.”
Haris argues that AI is increasingly acting as a force multiplier for overstretched compliance teams, enabling organisations to manage rising regulatory complexity without proportional workforce expansion.
Building trusted data foundations for enterprise AI
A second major challenge in enterprise AI adoption is data integrity. Italian digital trust company Notarify is addressing this through systems designed to verify documents, products, and compliance records before they enter AI workflows.
“The companies that will benefit most from AI will not simply be those that adopt AI tools faster,” said Federico Monti, CEO and Founder of Notarify. “They will be the companies that first build a trusted, certified and well-structured data environment.”
At GITEX AI EUROPE, Notarify is showcasing NotariPassport, a blockchain-based Digital Product Passport solution, and NotariDrive, a tamper-proof document certification platform.
As the EU advances Digital Product Passport initiatives and expands its digital sovereignty agenda, demand is rising for verifiable data systems across supply chains.
Monti added: “Sovereign cloud provides the infrastructure layer, but companies also need a trust layer — certified documents, verified product data, blockchain-based proof, compliance by design.”
Sovereign AI infrastructure and enterprise security
Another focus at the event is sovereign AI infrastructure. Eternal Web will present Eternal AI Studio, a platform enabling organisations to use multiple AI models while keeping sensitive data within private cloud environments.
“Businesses can’t unlock the full potential of their data using AI because it’s too complex, too fragmented and too risky to do it alone,” said Nirav S, Founder and Director of Eternal Web. “Secure and sovereign digital infrastructure will become the foundation upon which the next generation of AI, automation and digital services is built.”
Cyber resilience is also becoming central to enterprise readiness. Cyberprime will showcase its StateWarden platform, which combines memory-safe engineering, post-quantum cryptography, and zero-knowledge architecture to strengthen infrastructure against emerging threats.
“The real value of AI lies in protecting critical infrastructure and identifying threats before they become incidents,” said Matt Rodak, Founder and Systems Architect at Cyberprime. “Europe does not need more bloated enterprise software layers; we need independent, low-level code that is secure by design.”
Europe’s AI market enters its trust era
As AI systems become more deeply embedded in enterprise operations, concerns around sovereignty, security, and long-term resilience are moving to the forefront of investment and policy discussions.
With policymakers, investors, and technology leaders gathering in Berlin, GITEX AI EUROPE 2026 is expected to reflect a defining industry shift: the next phase of AI leadership will not be determined solely by model intelligence, but by the strength of the trust infrastructure supporting it.
