Google Launches First of Its Gemini 2.0 AI Models

The AI model that debuted on Wednesday was named Gemini 2.0 Flash. Currently, this digital product is available to consumers as a chat version worldwide. At the same time, an experimental multimodal configuration of a new artificial intelligence model with text-to-speech and image-generation functions can already be used by developers.

In a statement from Google chief executive officer Sundar Pichai, it was noted that the goal of Gemini 1.0 was to organize and understand information, and Gemini 2.0 will make it much more useful.

The new large language model from the technology giant surpasses its predecessors in many parameters related to user requests. In this case, consumer requests such as code generation and the ability to provide factually correct answers are implied. At the same time, Gemini 2.0 is inferior to Gemini 1.5 in evaluating longer contexts.

To access the chat-optimized version of Flash 2.0, Gemini users should select it from the model drop-down menu on the desktop and mobile web. This version will soon be available in the Gemini mobile app.

The multi-modal configuration of Gemini Flash 2.0 will be available on the Google AI Studio and Vertex AI developer platforms.

It’s worth noting that during the period of active development of artificial intelligence, the issue of cybersecurity has become more relevant. Scammers also have access to AI technologies that make their activities more sophisticated. To counteract the corresponding threat in the cyber environment, personal awareness of users is important. For example, a query in an Internet search engine, such as how to know if my camera is hacked, will allow anyone to get information about signs of unauthorized access to the device.
