The number of participants in Google One, the technology giant’s subscriber program, has exceeded the landmark score of 100 million people.

Google One Surpasses 100 Million Subscribers

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, posted relevant information on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter, at the end of last week. Separately, he said that the tech giant is waiting for the opportunity to build on this momentum with a new AI Premium plan offering artificial intelligence features, including Gemini Advanced. The probability that these expectations will become reality is high. Currently, artificial intelligence services are becoming more efficient and versatile in terms of functionality. Further development of the advanced technology will stimulate the growth of users’ interest.

The Google One subscription provides consumers with cloud storage and device backup capabilities. Also, as part of this solution, users have access to online security features, including VPN and dark web reports. Moreover, in this case, offers features such as photo editing and Google Store rewards.

Sundar Pichai announced an increase in the number of subscribers after the tech giant presented a new premium Google One AI plan. As part of this solution, consumers are given access to Gemini Advanced, a chatbot that provides users with the ability to apply Google’s largest artificial intelligence model Ultra 1.0.

Subscribers of the new plan costing $19.99 per month will soon be able to use Gemini in such apps of the technology giant as Gmail, Documents, Slides, and Sheets.

The advantage of artificial intelligence has helped to increase the number of Google subscriptions. During an earnings call at the end of January, Sundar Pichai said that quarterly subscription revenue reached $9 billion in December. On an annual basis, this figure reached $15 billion and has grown fivefold since 2019. Sundar Pichai says that a positive dynamic is the result of the introduction of artificial intelligence and leadership in the sphere of products.

Google has launched a paid subscription to chatbot after the impressive success of OpenAI ChatGPT Plus. The demand for Sam Altman’s company’s digital product turned out to be so fast that the brand failed to fully satisfy consumer interest. In mid-November, OpenAI had to suspend signups, which was resumed a month later.

Microsoft’s artificial intelligence chatbot is also currently recording a steady increase in the number of subscribers. In November, Microsoft 365 Copilot AI was launched for Office app business subscribers. According to preliminary information, the company’s annual revenue could reach more than $10 billion by 2026.

Currently, the process of development of generative artificial intelligence is carried out exponentially. Neural networks and pre-trained transformers, which are a kind of functional base of apps such as ChatGPT, are the focus of attention of millions of users and developers.

Large language models interpret and generate ordinary human conversation, powering new interfaces.
