Intuit Adds AI-Powered Financial Assistant to QuickBooks

The new Intuit Assist for QuickBooks has been developed to help companies belonging to the category of small and medium-sized businesses. In this case, artificial intelligence tools generate estimates, issue invoices and bills, remind the user about payment and deliver personalized recommendations. The relevant information is contained in a press release published by Intuit.

Dave Talach, senior vice president, product, at Intuit QuickBooks, stated that the specified virtual assistant allows customers to use connected tools and services to manage their business and maintain its growth. According to him, the corresponding functional solution changes the rules of the game. In this context, he noted that business owners can work as if they have a whole team behind them with a holistic view of a particular activity.

The press release contains information that Intuit Assist is providing a new Business Feed on the QuickBooks homepage. In this case, a dynamic view of the user’s business is displayed and the work done by the virtual assistant based on artificial intelligence and ready for review by the consumer is highlighted.

The AI assistant can generate estimates, invoices, or bills based on information contained in emails, electronic documents, or photographs of handwritten notes. Artificial intelligence can also generate personalized reminders when past due invoices are detected, extract data from receipts and auto-populate them in QuickBooks, and match invoices paid or bills paid to the corresponding bank transaction. This information is contained in the press release.

For customers who are using QuickBooks for the first time, Intuit Assist can simplify setup. The AI can demonstrate an algorithm for connecting to a live human specialist who will walk users through the process. This was mentioned in the press release.

In September, Intuit announced that it will introduce agentic artificial intelligence capabilities and will continue rolling out them through 2025, adding them across its platforms and products.

In addition to QuickBooks, Intuit is the parent company of TurboTax, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp.

Agentic AI systems work on behalf of consumers or companies. These systems provide personalized insights and recommendations.

Agentic AI is positioned to bring the capabilities of automated software to a new level. In this case, the architecture of the request-action category is used. It is worth noting that in the context of such functional solutions, there is an example of automation of processes achieved as a result of the use of artificial intelligence. The corresponding scenarios of applying machine intelligence will likely scale.
