Drivers across the UK can now pay for MOTs, tyres, servicing, and other vehicle work with an American Express card — both in Kwik Fit centre and online.

Kwik Fit, which operates more than 630 service centres around the UK, has reached a new payment acceptance agreement with American Express. From today, customers can use Amex cards to pay for the full range of services the company offers, including tyre fitting, brake work, MOT tests, and general vehicle servicing, whether they book in person or through the Kwik Fit website.
The arrangement extends to the company’s approximately 50 Tyre Pros sites as well, broadening the coverage further. Kwik Fit says the decision fits its broader aim of reducing friction for customers when booking and paying for vehicle work.
Vehicle repairs and servicing can be significant, unplanned expenses. For cardholders who use Amex for its cashback or rewards points, previously having to pay by other means meant missing out on benefits in one of the more substantial categories of personal spending. That gap now closes for Kwik Fit customers.
“Our aim is to deliver peace of mind and convenience for our customers. Accepting Amex is another way we can meet our customers’ needs, whether they are in centre or booking online.”
Dan Joyce, Retail Operations Director at Kwik Fit
The move is part of a broader push by American Express to expand where its cards are accepted in everyday spending categories across the UK. The company says its merchant coverage has roughly tripled since 2021, now including every major supermarket chain and most high street retailers.
One of the notable earlier expansions of the Amex payment acceptance network in the UK was its partnership with Big Yellow Self Storage, which has 111 stores nationwide, including 23 branded as Armadillo Self Storage. The payment company has also signed on a number of high‑profile retailers lately, including Decathlon, Screwfix, Footasylum, and even convenience chains like McColl’s.
“We are committed to ensuring our Cardmembers can use their Card wherever they live, work and travel. This agreement reinforces our strong merchant coverage nationwide.”
