Nayax Adds AI-Powered Tools to MoMa App for Vending and Self-Service Operators

Nayax has unveiled its new AI component for MoMa, the mobile management app for those in the unattended trade and self-service sector. This update comes with the addition of AI-enabled features allowing companies to control business processes, hastening decision-making and managing fleets of vending machines via smartphone.

Nayax Adds AI-Powered Tools to MoMa App for Vending and Self-Service Operators

The MoMa application gives companies the chance to track sales, machine use, inventory, and planograms in the cloud. Users can also adjust prices, issue refunds, switch off machines, and control both individual devices and fleets. With the rollout of AI technology, valuable data is turned into actionable business insights and recommendations.

Those involved in unattended retail often take on multiple roles. For example, owners and managers are tasked with route planning, machine maintenance, stock control, pricing, and customer support. As the business expands, it is more and more difficult to follow up on every machine. The new feature from Nayax is aimed at alleviating the challenges of managing unattended retail operations thus allowing owners to concentrate on decisions aimed at improving the business.

One of the main additions is the MoMa AI Assistant. It allows operators to ask questions in plain language using their own business data. Rather than creating reports or searching through dashboards, users can simply ask which machines are underperforming or why revenue has fallen at a specific location and receive immediate answers.

The update also includes Planogram AI Suggestions, which analyses machine-level sales data and recommends changes to product assortment and placement. The feature highlights products that should be replaced, identifies the most valuable shelf positions, and points out items that no longer perform well. Demand-based smart picklists complement these recommendations by helping operators restock machines based on actual demand instead of fixed schedules.

Another new capability is Visual Recognition. Operators can take a photo of a vending machine, and MoMa automatically creates the planogram from the image. According to Nayax, this process is up to five times faster than mapping a machine manually. Faster planogram creation also improves the quality of inventory data, giving operators more accurate insights over time.

Joshua Lloyd, a six-year Nayax customer who manages more than 200 vending machines across the United Kingdom with JDJ Vending Services Ltd, said the platform has made managing his business much easier. “It helps me be a lot more present, even as a dad. I do not need to worry so much. I can just open my phone, see that all my machines are working, and go play with my son,” said Lloyd.

The AI layer also makes it easier to act on recommendations. Operators can carry out remote and bulk actions, including firmware updates, machine restarts, price changes, and refunds, without leaving the app.

Yair Nechmad, CEO and Co-Founder of Nayax, said: “Our customers run their businesses on their own time and capital, and our job is to make that simpler. Every feature we build starts with the same question: what does the operator need to run a better business? The new AI layer in MoMa is another step in that direction. It helps operators know what matters, control decisions with better data, and act faster from wherever they are.”
