Nayax Adds AI-Powered Product Discovery To Its Retail Platform, Processing 3.5 Billion Transactions Yearly

The Nayax platform, which offers payment solutions as well as a comprehensive suite of tools for building loyalty with customers, has recently introduced a range of new product discovery and personalization features underpinned by AI capabilities that enable retailers to better serve their customers.

These new features are built on Nayax’s proprietary Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine, which was developed in-house and integrated natively into the existing platform.

The product discovery and personalization features use shopper information from many sources, including POS systems, ecommerce platforms, and marketing systems. By using machine learning techniques, the AI engine analyzes the retailer’s product catalog and automatically assigns detailed tags and attributes to each product, making it possible to provide shoppers with intelligent visual and text-based search results as well as product recommendations based on their previous shopping habits.

“We’re at an inflection point in retail. Shoppers do not think in channels; they just shop. Yet for years, the technology behind retail has been built in silos, forcing retailers to stitch together fragmented tools that never quite tell the full story,” said Yael Kochman, General Manager at Nayax. “What we’re launching today changes that. By bringing our proprietary AI for discovery and personalization together with payments in one platform, we’re giving retailers something they’ve never had before: a complete, intelligent view of their customers, and the tools to act on it in real time, whether the shopper is browsing online or walking through a store. That is what makes this moment so exciting. And we’re just getting started.”

Nayax has become a leader in providing services for unattended retail globally and has broadened its scope to include a multi-channel offering.

The company plans to continue expanding its capabilities through acquisitions. In 2021, Nayax bought Weezmo, an Israeli tech startup that focuses on creating connections between the online customer experience and in-person purchases. Weezmo’s technology uses artificial intelligence to track the entire buying process, including the effects of digital advertising on both online and offline sales. At NRF 2026 in January, Nayax exhibited its digital commerce and merchandising capabilities, including enhanced search and navigation using automated tagging of inventory and visually based product browsing.

While retail service providers like Nayax have been building AI-powered tech stacks for merchants, the use of artificial intelligence on customer side in online shopping is rapidly growing, though only 14% of e-commerce consumers blindly rely on the AI engine best choice. Most of the consumers have already leveraged the power of AI for product discovery and price comparison. However, the vast majority still prefers reviewing the AI recommendation results independently before purchase.
