Mutual Benefit Group is transforming the insurance claims experience by giving policyholders faster, more flexible payment options, harnessing One Inc’s ClaimsPay platform to bring digital-first convenience to one of the industry’s most critical touchpoints.

One Inc, the digital payments network for the insurance industry, announced today that Mutual Benefit Group (MBG) has successfully implemented One Inc’s ClaimsPay platform to enhance outbound claims disbursements. The adoption represents MBG’s latest step in its digital transformation journey, equipping policyholders with faster, more seamless, and flexible payment options during critical claims moments.
Headquartered in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, MBG serves over 58,000 policyholders across Pennsylvania and Maryland through more than 300 independent agent locations. By integrating the ClaimsPay platform, MBG policyholders can now receive claims via popular mobile and web payment platforms, including Venmo and PayPal, in addition to traditional direct payment options. MBG also gains access to One Inc’s Vendor-Provider Network, which boasts over 1.1 million vendors spanning multiple industries and representing the interests of more than 290 insurance carriers across the United States.
“A claim is the moment of truth for any insurance policy,” Vice President – Claims Shannon Davis at MBG said. “Securing quick, efficient payment options allows our policyholders to begin the restoration process quickly by receiving payment in the manner they choose.”
The insurance sector is increasingly embracing digital payment platforms to meet rising consumer expectations. According to a 2024 J.D. Power U.S. Insurance Digital Claims Survey, carriers that offer multi-channel, instant digital payments report a 20%-25 % higher policyholder satisfaction score compared with those relying solely on traditional payment methods. Additionally, industry research from Celent indicates that digital claims payment adoption has grown steadily over the past five years, with over 45 % of U.S. carriers now enabling mobile or web-based payout options.
By leveraging ClaimsPay, MBG not only improves operational efficiency but also positions itself to meet the evolving digital-first expectations of policyholders. As Ian Drysdale, CEO of One Inc, notes: “As consumer expectations continue to evolve rapidly, it is essential that carriers have access to the right technologies to meet those needs and remain competitive.”
