Tietoevry has officially unveiled a major strategic shift: the company is renewing its brand and returning to the simplified name Tieto as it enters its next chapter of growth. The move comes after the divestment of its Tech Services division in September 2025, which sharpened the company’s focus on its core vertical software and digital consulting businesses.

The new name reflects both the company’s Nordic heritage (tieto means “data, information, knowledge” in Finnish) and its ambition to operate as a more agile, impact-driven technology partner. According to the company, the brand refresh is designed to boost customer focus, accelerate AI-driven capabilities, and streamline operations across its remaining businesses.
Following its portfolio transformation, Tieto now comprises four main businesses, all renamed to reflect their specialization:
-
Tieto Banktech (formerly Tietoevry Banking)
-
Tieto Caretech (formerly Tietoevry Care)
-
Tieto Indtech (formerly Tietoevry Industry)
-
Tieto Tech Consulting (formerly Tietoevry Create)
These units together form an almost €2-billion-revenue company with around 15,000 experts in vertical software, cloud, design, and AI engineering.
Tietoevry’s renewed brand also marks a return to its roots, reflecting both the company’s heritage and its streamlined focus on core vertical software and consulting businesses. Originally founded as Tieto in 1968, the company became Tietoevry following its 2019 merger with Norwegian IT provider EVRY, combining the two Nordic legacies.
Now, after divesting its Tech Services business in September 2025, the simplified name Tieto again aligns with the company’s strategic priorities, such as a customer-first mindset, simplified core, selective international expansion, and an AI-driven approach, while also signaling a clear, impact-focused identity for its four business units: Tieto Banktech, Tieto Caretech, Tieto Indtech, and Tieto Tech Consulting.
Tieto CEO Endre Rangnes described the moment as “pivotal,” pointing to the accelerating role of AI in transforming the global fintech industry. The company aims to combine its long operational history with a modern, customer-first approach and selective international expansion.
The brand rollout begins at Capital Markets Day on 25 November 2025, with the parent company’s legal name change subject to AGM approval.
As Tieto steps into 2026 with a sharper focus, simplified structure, and strengthened brand, the company is positioning itself as a Nordic-rooted but globally relevant AI-driven software provider. Its renewed identity aims to signal clarity, purpose, and readiness for the next wave of digital transformation, without abandoning the heritage that has shaped it for over 55 years.
