Microsoft has announced the acquisition of ADRM Software to help firms to more holistically capture and define business concepts.

The kinds of large-scale data models ADRM offers are used by large companies worldwide as information blueprints. The company has been building and refining them for decades for analytics purposes.

According to the report, the companies are implementing data modeling on a fragmented basis. That is resulting in a disparate data estate that is incapable of supporting the kinds of digital transformation required today.

The acquisition is expected to enable the creation of an intelligent data lake where data from multiple business lines can be harmonized together more quickly.

We’ve reported that Microsoft has announced the decision to replace dozens of its UK and US editors with artificial intelligence software.
