Report names most phished delivery services. Source: has found that shipping-related phishing attacks more than quadrupled across Europe in November 2020. This is at a time of record levels of online holiday shopping.

According to Check Point, DHL accounts for 77% of total shipping fraud, followed by Amazon (37%) and FedEx (7%).

Delivery scams are typically done to trick the recipient into revealing their identity. Fraudsters pretend to be a delivery issue or offer to track a delivery, both playing on widespread concerns about lost deliveries.

Along with that, Check Point warns that attackers choose both sides of the online shopping process. Previously, there was an 80% increase in phishing campaigns targeting online shoppers with fake specials.

Check Point said it recorded a similar increase in phishing attacks in both North America and the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

This way, in November, the number of phishing attempts in the United States increased by 427% compared to October. The leading impersonated brand in this geography is Amazon, which accounted for 65% of endeavors. The gain in APAC is less pronounced but still considerable – 185%, while DHL accounted for 65% of the total number of fraudulent emails.
